Responsibilities:

Responsibilities:

  • Safely operate a heavy or tractor-trailer truck to transport aggregates and other materials to specified destinations.
  • Load and unload cargo, ensuring that all transported materials are secured properly.
  • Maintain accurate logs of working hours, mileage, and materials transported in compliance with federal, state, and company regulations.
  • Perform pre-trip, in-route, and post-trip inspections of the truck and its equipment, such as brakes, tires, and lights.
  • Communicate with dispatchers, clients, and receiving personnel to ensure timely and accurate deliveries.
  • Adhere to weight limits and ensure the accurate weighing of materials before and during transport.
  • Report any vehicle maintenance needs, malfunctions, or incidents promptly.
  • Comply with all applicable traffic laws and drive in a manner that promotes safety on the road.
  • Navigate a variety of routes, utilizing both highways and local roads, while factoring in current weather and traffic conditions.
  • Provide excellent customer service and maintain professionalism at all delivery and pick-up locations.

Qualifications:

Qualifications:

  • Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
  • Proven work experience as a truck driver, preferably in aggregate transporting.
  • Familiarity with truck driving rules and regulations, as well as with the safe operation of heavy equipment.
  • Knowledge of the local geography and the ability to use GPS devices effectively.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Physical stamina to load, unload, and manage heavy materials.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug test.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including possible weekends and overtime as necessary.

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities:

  • Perform regular maintenance on diesel trucks, including oil changes, air filter replacements, and other routine tasks.
  • Diagnose and repair complex mechanical issues related to diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, electrical systems, and other components of big rigs.
  • Utilize diagnostic equipment to detect issues and ensure effective solutions.
  • Ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety standards and company policies.
  • Coordinate with parts department to obtain necessary components and equipment.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • Conduct inspections and test drives to ensure the functionality of repaired vehicles.
  • Complete required paperwork, documenting parts used and repair procedures.
  • Keep up-to-date with advancements in diesel technology and attend workshops or training sessions as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with drivers, dispatchers, and management to ensure swift resolution of mechanical issues.

  • High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical training in diesel mechanics is highly preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic, preferably with big rigs or similar heavy-duty trucks.
  • Strong knowledge of diesel engine components and repair techniques.
  • Proficiency with diagnostic software and equipment.
  • Ability to lift heavy parts and equipment.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. A CDL is a plus.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including possible weekends and overtime as necessary.
